Fertilizer Friday - Feb 10, 2012

Flaunting the flowers at my terrace garden, after a long time! I guess the plants have revived, and blooming flowers. The orange plant has several sparkling White flowers; hoping that all of them turn into fruits.

The spinach and amaranthus seedlings look cute and healthy. The amaranthus plants are everywhere due to the seed blast the previous season. The shallots are going fine; we may have a good harvest. Oh well, all of them need a spray of pesticide during this weekend.

I am participating in Fertilizer Friday - http://www.tootsietime.com/2012/02/fertilizer-friday-flaunt-your-flowers_09.html. Here are the photos of flowers that have bloomed today.

Happy weekend!

Regards,
Asha

  4. What a treat to see your lovely blooms! We are in winter and there are very few blooms now. However, my daffodils are blooming because we have had such mild temperatures this winter. I enjoy your blog and have extended the Liebster Blog award to you on my latest post. Enjoy!

Thanks, Stephanie. I like the Yellow too; adds the touch of gold to the garden.

Thanks, SB! I am honored to receive the award. I would love to grow daffodils; wonder if that's possible here.

Thanks, G@60. I picked the Yellow one at a small nursery at outskirts of Bangalore. This is the plant's second flowering season. Was a good buy!

    Happy weekend, everyone.

  8. Hi Shalu, sorry I missed this comment earlier. Thanks, and welcome to my blog.

That plant is Kalanchoe. For more info, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalanchoe.

Plants from Indo-American Hybrid Seeds, Lalbagh, and Siddhapura area are worth buying. Ensure that you pick a healthy plant. Namdari seeds are excellent, and produce 100% germination. Lalbagh nursery also has seeds from various seed companies; good ones. Also visit Department of Horticulture, Hulimavu.
